Fixing common problems

Fixes for the most common We-Link MCP issues: missing credentials, login errors, verification prompts and daily limits.

Written by Gary Egan

Most hiccups come down to credentials, verification, or hitting a daily limit. Here's how to spot and fix each.

Your assistant says it's missing credentials

If you see something like MISSING_WELINK_CREDENTIALS or MISSING_ACCOUNT_ID, your assistant didn't receive your key, secret, or account ID.

  • Open your connector settings and check all three values are there and correct.

  • Restart or reconnect the assistant so it picks up the change.

  • Double check your account ID matches the LinkedIn account you connected in We-Link.

LinkedIn login isn't working

If you see WC_AUTH_WRONG_PASSWORD, the LinkedIn login We-Link has on file is out of date. Update the credentials for that account in the We-Link dashboard, then try again.

It's asking for a code

That's a verification check, not an error. See When LinkedIn asks you to verify.

You've hit your daily limit

If you see QUOTA_EXCEEDED_DAILY, you've reached the safe daily amount for that account. This is the safety layer doing its job and protecting your account. Wait until the reset time shown in the message, then carry on.
